Finally, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC bring in Sporting Kansas City. Tim Melia and David Ousted are given the starting nods in goal. Kansas City took a yellow card for a Benny Feilhaber foul in the twentieth minute. Sporting led off with a fifty-second minute goal by Kevin Ellis, assisted by Krisztian Nemeth. Kansas City took a yellow card for a Soni Mustivar foul in the fifty-eighth minute. Vancouver saw a yellow card go to Kendall Waston in the seventy-third minute for dissent. In the eighty-sixth minute, Sporting's Nemeth took a yellow card for time wasting, followed by a yellow card to Dominic Dwyer in the eighty-eighth minute for an argument. The final was 1-0, with the man of the match being Melia for a six-save clean sheet.
