Moscow got going in the second period with an Alexander Radulov goal, assisted by Jan Mursak and Igor Ozhiganov. St. Petersburg tied it on a Joakim Lindstrom goal, fueled by Dmitry Yudin. CSKA retook the lead as Nikita Zaitsev scored a power play goal, thanks to Geoff Platt. SKA retied it on a Maxim Chudinov goal, coming off of Anton Belov and Vadim Shipachyov on the power play. Moscow pulled ahead again in the third period with an Ozhiganov goal, made possible by Ivan Telegin. St. Petersburg tied it again with an Ilya Kovalchuk power play goal, powered by Evgeny Dadonov and Shipachyov. CSKA won 4-3 in overtime on a Platt goal. The three stars belonged to Platt, Ozhiganov, and Shipachyov.

Houston dented the scoreboard in the fifty-fifth minute on a DaMarcus Beasley goal, assisted by Giles Barnes. In the sixtieth minute, Alashe of the Earthquakes was sent off on his second yellow card for a foul, putting his team at ten men. San Jose still tied the game in the seventieth minute despite the disadvantage, on a goal by Quincy Amarikwa passed from Shaun Francis. Raul Rodriguez of the Dynamo received a yellow card for a foul in the seventy-first minute. Houston retook the lead in the seventy-seventh minute as Alex scored, with the help of Sheanon Williams and Oscar Garcia. In the eighty-second minute, Sanna Nyassi of the Earthquakes received a yellow card for his foul. The 2-1 score became a final, with Alex being the man of the match for the game winner.
Ending Saturday, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC host Real Salt Lake. Jeff Attinella and David Ousted are the keepers. Vancouver struck first on a seventh minute penalty kick goal by Octavio Rivero. The Whitecaps added on with a fortieth minute goal by Pa Modou Kah, assisted by Kekuta Manneh. Salt Lake had a yellow card for a foul by Phanuel Kavita in the forty-fifth minute. Vancouver extended the lead with a Cristian Techera goal in the fiftieth minute, made possible by Jordan Harvey and Nicolas Mezquida. The Whitecaps saw a yellow card go to Kendall Waston in the sixtieth minute for his foul. Vancouver padded the lead as Techera scored again in the sixty-eighth minute, thanks to Harvey and Pedro Morales. Real took went down to ten men when Abdoulie Mansally took a straight red card for his eighty-eighth minute foul. The final held at 4-0, with the man of the match being Techera for his brace.
On Sunday, the first game sees the Los Angeles Galaxy welcome the Seattle Sounders FC. Stefan Frei and Donovan Ricketts are the veteran goalies. Seattle started on a first minute goal by Chad Barrett, assisted by Erik Friberg. Los Angeles tied it in the thirteenth minute on a Gyasi Zardes goal, via Juninho. The Sounders had a yellow card given to Friberg in the thirty-eighth minute. The Galaxy took the lead on a forty-seventh minute goal by Robbie Keane, coming off of Giovani dos Santos and A.J. DeLaGarza. In the sixty-second minute, Seattle's Oniel Fisher had a yellow card for a foul. Los Angeles added on with a dos Santos goal in the sixty-fourth minute, made possible by Keane and Sebastian Lletget. The final remained 3-1, with the man of the match being Keane, with the winner and an assist.
Finally, the New York Red Bulls bring in New York City FC. Josh Saunders and Luis Robles tend the nets. New York began with a twenty-first minute Bradley Wright-Phillips goal, courtesy of Kemar Lawrence and Sacha Kljestan. In the forty-fifth minute, NYCFC had a yellow card given to Thomas McNamara for his foul. NYCFC had another yellow card given to Shay Facey in the fifty-ninth minute for a foul. The Red Bulls added on with a Felipe goal in the eighty-fifth minute, passed from Mike Grella. In stoppage time Patrick Mullins of NYCFC had a yellow card for a foul and Connor Lade of New York took a yellow card for an argument. The final stood at 2-0, with the man of the match being Robles for his three-save clean sheet.
