NHL 2022-23 - Day 11

There's 12 games on for today's schedule, beginning with...

The Boston Bruins hosting the Anaheim Ducks. John Gibson and Linus Ullmark man the nets. Boston got going in the second period with a Taylor Hall goal, his second of the season, assisted by Hampus Lindholm and Matt Grzelcyk. Anaheim tied it on a Frank Vatrano goal, his third of the year, via Mason McTavish and Ryan Strome. The tie went to a shootout, where Hall had the lone tally to give the Bruins a 2-1 win. The three stars were Hall, Ullmark (30 for 31 in saves), and Gibson (35 for 36 in saves).

Along to Toronto, as the Maple Leafs welcome the Dallas Stars. Scott Wedgewood and Ilya Samsonov make the starts in goal. Dallas kicked off the scoring in the first period with a Luke Glendening goal, coming off of Nils Lundkvist and Joel Kiviranta. Toronto tied it on an Alexander Kerfoot power play goal in the second period, powered by Michael Bunting and Rasmus Sandin. The Maple Leafs took the lead in the third period with a Nicholas Robertson goal, via Bunting and William Nylander. The Stars tied it on a Tyler Seguin power play goal, his second of the season, with assists provided by Mason Marchment and Wyatt Johnston. Toronto won 3-2 in overtime with a Robertson goal, his second of the game, made possible by Auston Matthews and Morgan Rielly. . The three stars were Robertson, Bunting, and Kerfoot.

Staying in Canada, the Montreal Canadiens bring in the Arizona Coyotes. Connor Ingram and Jake Allen are in the blue paint. Montreal led off in the first period with a Josh Anderson goal, his second of the season, via Jonathan Drouin and Kirby Dach. The Canadiens added on with a Cole Caufield goal, his fourth of the year, going in unassisted. Montreal extended the lead as Brendan Gallagher scored, thanks to David Savard. The Canadiens padded the lead in the second period on a Juraj Slafkovsky unassisted goal. Montreal continued with a Nick Suzuki penalty shot goal, his third of the season. Arizona got on the board in the third period with a J.J. Moser goal, helped along by Travis Boyd and Lawson Crouse. The Coyotes got closer with a Boyd goal, with helpers from Crouse and Clayton Keller. The Canadiens iced it at 6-2 with a Sean Monahan empty net goal, his second of the year, going in unassisted. The three stars were Boyd, Crouse, and Slafkovsky.

Back to Ontario, as the Senators host the Washington Capitals. Darcy Kuemper and Anton Forsberg are between the pipes. Washington struck first in the first period with a T.J. Oshie power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Marcus Johansson and John Carlson. The Capitals added on with an Anthony Mantha power play goal, his third of the year, with assists provided by Dmitry Orlov and Conor Sheary. Ottawa got on the board in the second period with a Drake Batherson power play goal, his second of the season, helped along by Brady Tkachuk and Alex DeBrincat. The Senators tied it on a Batherson power play goal, his second of the game and third of the year, guided in by Thomas Chabot and Tkachuk. Ottawa gained the lead in the third period with a Shane Pinto goal, his third of the season, made possible by Tyler Motte and Mathieu Joseph. The Senators extended the lead with a Motte empty net goal, going in unassisted. Ottawa iced it at 5-2 with a DeBrincat empty net goal, set up by Claude Giroux. Stateside, the New York Rangers welcome the San Jose Sharks. James Reimer and Igor Shesterkin are in the creases. San Jose started in the first period with a Logan Couture power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Luke Kunin and Erik Karlsson. New York tied it in the second period with a Filip Chytil goal, his second of the year, passed from Chris Kreider. The Rangers took the lead with an Artemi Panarin goal, his third of the season, made possible by Adam Fox and Vincent Trocheck. The Sharks tied it on a Radim Simek goal, fueled by Matt Nieto and Oskar Lindblom. San Jose won 3-2 in overtime with a Karlsson goal, his second of the year, assisted by Timo Meier and Tomas Hertl. The three stars were Karlsson, Simek, and Couture.

Over in Pittsburgh, the Penguins bring in the Los Angeles Kings. Cal Petersen and Tristan Jarry patrol the creases. Pittsburgh opened in the first period with a Jan Rutta goal, assisted by Evgeni Malkin and Jason Zucker. The Penguins added on with a Jake Guentzel goal, his third of the season, via Kris Letang and Sidney Crosby. Pittsburgh extended the lead as Rickard Rakell scored his second of the year, thanks to Jeff Petry and Marcus Pettersson. Jonathan Quick replaced Petersen in goal in the second period. The Penguins padded the lead in the second period on a Petry power play goal, coming off of Danton Heinen. Pittsburgh continued with a Jeff Carter goal in the third period, his second of the season, courtesy of Kasperi Kapanen and Petry. The Penguins struck again with a Ryan Poehling shorthanded goal, going in unassisted. Los Angeles got on the board with a Carl Grundstrom power play goal, with helpers from Brandt Clarke and Drew Doughty. The final stood at 6-1, with the three stars being Petry, Guentzel, and Jarry (39 for 40 in saves).

Further west, the Columbus Blue Jackets host the Nashville Predators. Kevin Lankinen and Elvis Merzlikins receive the starting nods in goal. Nashville began in the first period with a Tanner Jeannot goal, his second of the season, fueled by Colton Sissons and Yakov Trenin. The Predators added on with a Ryan Johansen goal, his second of the year, guided in by Mattias Ekholm and Nino Niederreiter. Columbus got on the board in the second period with a Jake Bean goal, via Kent Johnson and Yegor Chinakhov. Nashville fired back with a Trenin goal, assisted by Jeannot and Sissons. The Blue Jackets responded in the third period with a Johnny Gaudreau goal, his third of the season, coming off of Nick Blankenburg. Columbus tied it on a Justin Danforth goal, his second of the year, passed from Chinakhov and Andrew Peeke. The Blue Jackets gained the lead with a Blankenburg goal, made possible by Jakub Voracek and Jack Roslovic. Columbus iced it at 5-3 with a Gaudreau empty net goal, his second of the game and fourth of the year, set up by Gustav Nyquist. Eastward to New York, as the Islanders welcome the New Jersey Devils. Mackenzie Blackwood and Ilya Sorokin man the creases. New Jersey dented the scoreboard in the second period with a Jack Hughes goal, assisted by Damon Severson. The Devils added on with an Ondrej Palat goal, his second of the season, coming off of Jesper Bratt and Nico Hischier. New Jersey extended the lead in the third period as Palat scored his second of the game and third of the year, thanks to Hischier and Bratt. New York got on the board with an Anders Lee goal, his second of the season, made possible by Kyle Palmieri and Mathew Barzal. The Devils iced it at 4-1 with a Hischier empty net goal, his second of the year, going in unassisted. The three stars were Palat, Hischier, and Bratt.

Northwest to Minnesota, as the Wild bring in the Vancouver Canucks. Thatcher Demko and Marc-Andre Fleury guard the cages. Minnesota cracked the scoresheet in the first period with a Mats Zuccarello goal, his third of the season, assisted by Ryan Hartman and Jacob Middleton. Vancouver tied it on a Bo Horvat goal, his fourth of the year, via Tanner Pearson and Brock Boeser. The Canucks pulled ahead on a Nils Aman goal, courtesy of Dakota Joshua and Quinn Hughes. The Wild tied it on a Sam Steel goal, his second of the season, passed from Kirill Kaprizov. Vancouver retook the lead in the second period with a Joshua goal, guided in by Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Aman. Minnesota tied it again in the third period with a Zuccarello power play goal, his second of the game and fourth of the year, powered by Kaprizov and Calen Addison. The Wild won 4-3 in overtime with a Kaprizov goal, his fourth of the campaign, fueled by Zuccarello and Addison. Out to Edmonton, as the Oilers host the Carolina Hurricanes. Frederik Andersen and Jack Campbell protect the nets. Edmonton kicked off the scoring in the first period with a Zach Hyman power play goal, powered by Tyson Barrie and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Carolina tied it in the second period with an Andrei Svechnikov goal, his fourth of the season, assisted by Sebastian Aho and Jaccob Slavin. The Oilers took the lead with a Ryan McLeod shorthanded goal, his second of the year, set up by Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard. Edmonton added on with an Evander Kane goal, helped along by Connor McDavid. The Hurricanes got one back on another Svechnikov goal, his second of the game and fifth of the season, made possible by Martin Necas and Brent Burns. The Oilers replied with a Nugent-Hopkins goal in the third period, his second of the year, guided in by Hyman and McDavid. Carolina shot back with a Svechnikov power play goal to complete his hat trick on his sixth of the season, with a helper from Aho and Stefan Noesen. Edmonton responded again with a Leon Draisaitl power play goal, his second of the year, with assists provided by McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins. The Hurricanes stayed closer with a Necas power play goal, his third of the season, via Aho and Burns. The Oilers iced it at 6-4 with a McDavid empty net goal, his fifth of the year, fueled by Draisaitl. Staying in Alberta, the Calgary Flames welcome the Buffalo Sabres. Eric Comrie and Jacob Markstrom are tabbed to start in goal. Calgary drew first blood in the first period with an Andrew Mangiapane goal, his second of the season, via Nazem Kadri and Dillon Dube. Buffalo tied it with a Dylan Cozens goal, coming off of Jacob Bryson and Vinnie Hinostroza. The Sabres took the lead with a Rasmus Dahlin goal, his fourth of the year, assisted by JJ Peterka and Hinostroza. Buffalo added on with a Casey Mittelstadt shorthanded goal, set up by Hinostroza and Owen Power. Dan Vladar replaced Markstrom in goal for the second period. The Sabres extended the lead in the second period as Alex Tuch scored his third of the season, thanks to Power and Bryson. The Flames got one back with a Trevor Lewis goal, courtesy of Jonathan Huberdeau and Michael Stone. Calgary got closer with a Nikita Zadorov goal, helped along by Rasmus Andersson and Tyler Toffoli. Buffalo answered with a Tuch power play goal, his second of the game and fourth of the year, powered by Tage Thompson and Mittelstadt. The Sabres finished it at 6-3 with a Tuch empty net goal to complete his hat trick on his fifth of the campaign, guided in by Zemgus Girgensons and Cozens. The three stars were Tuch, Hinostroza, and Mittelstadt, while Cozens, Power, and Bryson get the honorable mentions.

Finally, the Vegas Golden Knights bring in the Winnipeg Jets. David Rittich and Adin Hill are the backups in goal. Vegas got on the board first in the first period with a Jack Eichel goal, his second of the season, assisted by Reilly Smith and Alex Pietrangelo. The Golden Knights added on with a William Karlsson goal, his second of the year, via Michael Amadio and Jonathan Marchessault. Vegas extended the lead as Chandler Stephenson scored, thanks to Shea Theodore. The Golden Knights padded the lead on another Eichel goal, his second of the game and third of the season, going in unassisted. Winnipeg got on the board in the second period with a Pierre-Luc Dubois goal, passed from Neal Pionk and Cole Perfetti. The Jets got closer in the third period with a Pionk goal, his third of the year, with helpers from Josh Morrissey and Adam Lowry. Vegas capped it at 5-2 with an empty net goal by Marchessault, his fourth of the campaign, set up by Karlsson and Pietrangelo. NHL 2022-23 - Day 10

There's just three games on for this Wednesday, beginning with...

The Florida Panthers hosting the Philadelphia Flyers. Felix Sandstrom and Sergei Bobrovsky are the goalies. Florida opened in the first period with a Carter Verhaeghe goal, via Aleksander Barkov and Radko Gudas. The Panthers added on with another Verhaeghe goal, assisted by Gustav Forsling and Barkov. Philadelphia got on the board with a Nick Seeler goal, passed from Kevin Hayes and Zach MacEwen.  The Flyers tied it in the second period with a James van Riemsdyk power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov. Florida took the lead with a Rudolfs Balcers goal, courtesy of Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk. The Panthers extended the lead as Josh Mahura scored, thanks to Bennett and Tkachuk. Philadelphia got one back with a power play goal by Konecny, his fourth of the year, guided in by Tony DeAngelo and Hayes. This only made it 4-3, the final, with the three stars going to Verhaeghe, Bennett, and Tkachuk, while Konecny, Hayes, and Barkov get the honorable mentions.

Out west, the Colorado Avalanche welcome the Winnipeg Jets. Connor Hellebuyck and Alexandar Georgiev guard the cages. Winnipeg started in the first period with a Sam Gagner power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Adam Lowry and Cole Perfetti. The Jets added on with a Neal Pionk goal, guided in by Mason Appleton and Josh Morrissey. Colorado got on the board with a Mikko Rantanen goal, his second of the year, via Nathan MacKinnon and Devon Toews. Winnipeg fired back with a Perfetti goal, made possible by Blake Wheeler and Pierre-Luc Dubois. The Avalanche got one back with a Rantanen goal, his second of the game and third of the season, coming off of Bowen Byram and Valeri Nichushkin. Colorado tied it with a Nichushkin power play goal, his fifth of the year, with assists provided by Rantanen and Cale Makar. The Jets won 4-3 in overtime with another Pionk goal, helped along by Appleton. The three stars were Pionk, Rantanen, and Appleton, while Perfetti and Nichushkin get the honorable mentions.

Finally, the Seattle Kraken bring in the St. Louis Blues. Jordan Binnington and Martin Jones are in the creases. St. Louis struck first in the first period with a Jordan Kyrou goal, assisted by Colton Parayko and Nick Leddy. Seattle tied it on a Will Borgen goal, via Alex Wennberg and Oliver Bjorkstrand. The Blues retook the lead with a Brayden Schenn goal, coming off of Vladimir Tarasenko and Robert Thomas. St. Louis added on with a Justin Faulk goal, passed from Schenn and Tarasenko. The Kraken got one back with a Ryan Donato goal, fueled by Brandon Tanev and Shane Wright. Seattle tied it on an Adam Larsson goal, helped along by Wennberg and Bjorkstrand. The Blues won 4-3 in overtime with a Faulk goal, his second of the game, courtesy of Tarasenko and Thomas. The three stars were Faulk, Tarasenko, and Schenn, while Thomas, Bjorkstrand, and Wennberg get the honorable mentions.

NHL 2022-23 - Day 9

Another fairly full day with eight games on is set to begin with...

The Columbus Blue Jackets hosting the Vancouver Canucks. Spencer Martin and Elvis Merzlikins are the goalies. Vancouver started in the first period with a Bo Horvat shorthanded goal, his second of the season, set up by Elias Pettersson and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. The Canucks added on with a Pettersson goal, his third of the year, coming off of Vasily Podkolzin and Nils Hoglander. Columbus got on the board with a Justin Danforth goal, via Vladislav Gavrikov and Yegor Chinakhov. The Blue Jackets tied it in the third period with a Zach Werenski goal, fueled by Boone Jenner and Johnny Gaudreau. Vancouver reclaimed the lead with a Horvat goal, his second of the game and third of the season, assisted by Brock Boeser and Tucker Poolman. Columbus tied it again with a Gaudreau goal, his second of the year, going in unassisted. The Blue Jackets won 4-3 in overtime with a Gavrikov goal, made possible by Chinakhov and Jakub Voracek. The three stars went to Gavrikov, Gaudreau, and Horvat, while Pettersson and Chinakhov get the honorable mentions.

New Jersey took the lead with a Dougie Hamilton goal, his second of the season, assisted by Bratt and Hischier. The Devils extended the lead as Dawson Mercer scored, thanks to Yegor Sharangovich and Hughes. This stood for a 4-2 win, with the three stars going to Silfverberg, Hischier, and Hughes, while Bratt gets an honorable mention.

Up in Ottawa, the Senators host the Boston Bruins. Jeremy Swayman and Anton Forsberg protect the nets. Ottawa opened in the first period with a Claude Giroux goal, his second of the season, assisted by Alex DeBrincat and Josh Norris. Tampa Bay got going in the second period with a Steven Stamkos power play goal, his fifth of the season, powered by Vladislav Namestnikov and Nikita Kucherov. The Lightning added on with another Stamkos goal, his second of the game and sixth of the year, guided in by Kucherov and Victor Hedman on the power play. Philadelphia got on the board with a Scott Laughton goal, his second of the season, helped along by Egor Zamula and Morgan Frost. The Flyers tied it in the third period with a James van Riemsdyk power play goal, assisted by Kevin Hayes and Tony DeAngelo. Philadelphia pulled ahead on a Noah Cates goal, going in unassisted. The Flyers held on for a 3-2 win, with the three stars being Stamkos, Kucherov, and Cates.

We're back after a one-day break with nine games on this Monday. First up...

The Boston Bruins host the Florida Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky and Linus Ullmark man the nets. Boston opened in the first period with an unassisted Jake DeBrusk goal. Florida tied it in the second period with a Sam Bennett goal, guided in by Matthew Tkachuk and Rudolfs Balcers. The Bruins retook the lead on a Patrice Bergeron goal, his second of the season, assisted by DeBrusk. Boston added on in the third period with a David Pastrnak goal, his second of the year, helped along by Bergeron and Connor Clifton. The Bruins extended the lead as Trent Frederic scored, thanks to A.J. Greer and Clifton. The Panthers got one back with a Gustav Forsling goal, coming off of Colin White and Eetu Luostarinen. Florida got closer with a White goal, his second of the season, passed from Forsling and Carter Verhaeghe. Back stateside, the New York Rangers host the Anaheim Ducks. John Gibson and Igor Shesterkin guard the cages. The Maple Leafs tied it on a Mitchell Marner goal, going in unassisted. Dallas tied it on a Tyler Seguin goal, via Ty Dellandrea and Mason Marchment. The Stars took the lead in the second period with a Jani Hakanpaa goal, assisted by Ryan Suter and Marchment. Dallas added on with a Joel Kiviranta goal, courtesy of Esa Lindell. The Stars extended the lead in the third period on a Miro Heiskanen power play goal, his second of the year, powered by Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson. This stood for a 4-1 win, with the three stars handed to Oettinger (23 for 24 in saves), Marchment, and Hakanpaa.

Finally, the Seattle Kraken bring in the Carolina Hurricanes. Frederik Andersen and Philipp Grubauer are between the pipes. Carolina cracked the scoresheet in the first period with a Seth Jarvis goal, his second of the season, via Sebastian Aho and Brady Skjei. The Hurricanes added on with an Aho power play goal in the second period, his second of the year, powered by Andrei Svechnikov and Brent Burns. Seattle got on the board with an Andre Burakovsky power play goal, his second of the season, with assists provided by Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann. Carolina replied with a Svechnikov power play goal, his second of the year, helped along by Aho and Stefan Noesen. The Hurricanes extended the lead as Svechnikov scored his second of the game and third of the season, thanks to Martin Necas. Carolina finished it at 5-1 with a Jordan Martinook goal, with helpers from Noesen and Jaccob Slavin in the third period. The three stars were Svechnikov, Aho, and Noesen.

It's Saturday, so that means a ton of games. There's 14 on this time, beginning with...

The Buffalo Sabres welcoming the Florida Panthers. Spencer Knight and Eric Comrie are in goal. Buffalo led off in the first period with an Alex Tuch goal, assisted by Henri Jokiharju and the goalie Comrie. Florida tied it on a Colin White goal, via Eetu Luostarinen and Anton Lundell. The Panthers took the lead with a Matthew Tkachuk goial, his second of the season, made possible by Gustav Forsling. The Sabres tied it again with a Zemgus Girgensons goal, courtesy of JJ Peterka and Rasmus Dahlin. Florida regained the lead in the second period with an Aaron Ekblad goal, coming off of Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart. The Panthers added on with a Brandon Montour power play goal, powered by Tkachuk and Barkov. Buffalo got one back with a Dahlin goal, his second of the year, with a lone assist by Tuch. The Flames retook the lead with a Stone goal, helped along by Kevin Rooney. Calgary added on with a Nazem Kadri goal, coming off of Stone on the power play. The Flames extended the lead as Andrew Mangiapane scored, thanks to Kadri and Dillon Dube. The Oilers got one back in the second period with a Connor McDavid power play goal, his fourth of the season, powered by Evander Kane and Draisaitl. Edmonton got closer with a Ryan McLeod goal, courtesy of Ryan Murray. This only made it 4-3, the final, with the three stars being Stone, Kadri, and Draisaitl.

In Seattle, the Kraken welcome the Vegas Golden Knights. Adin Hill and Martin Jones are the backups in goal. Vegas began in the first period with a Keegan Kolesar goal, guided in by William Carrier. The Golden Knights added on with a Jonathan Marchessault power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Nicolas Roy and Alex Pietrangelo. Vegas extended the lead in the second period as Reilly Smith scored on the power play, thanks to Mark Stone and Jack Eichel. The Golden Knights padded the lead on a Marchessault goal, his second of the game and third of the year, via Chandler Stephenson and Shea Theodore. Tampa Bay tied it on a Corey Perry power play goal, powered by Vladislav Namestnikov and Mikhail Sergachev. NHL 2022-23 - Day 5

We've got 10 games on for the first big day of the season. First up...

The Buffalo Sabres host the Ottawa Senators. Anton Forsberg and Craig Anderson are the goalies. Ottawa opened in the first period with a Brady Tkachuk goal, assisted by Drake Batherson and Erik Brannstrom. Buffalo tied it in the second period with a JJ Peterka goal, coming off of Dylan Cozens. The Sabres took the lead with a Rasmus Dahlin goal, courtesy of Peyton Krebs and Kyle Okposo. Buffalo added on in the third period with a Victor Olofsson empty net goal, going in unassisted. The Sabres iced it at 4-1 with another Olofsson empty net goal, his second of the game, set up by Ilya Lyubushkin. The three stars were Olofsson, Dahlin, and Peterka.

Down in Philadelphia, the Flyers welcome the New Jersey Devils. Mackenzie Blackwood and Carter Hart man the nets. New Jersey began in the first period with an Alexander Holtz power play goal, powered by Jesper Bratt and Dawson Mercer. Philadelphia tied it on a Wade Allison goal, coming off of Ivan Provorov and Tony DeAngelo. The Flyers pulled ahead in the second period with a Travis Konecny goal, made possible by Kevin Hayes and Provorov. Philadelphia added on with a Morgan Frost goal, via Tanner Laczynski and James van Riemsdyk. The Flyers extended the lead in the third period as Konecny scored his second goal of the game on the power play, thanks to Hayes and DeAngelo. The Devils got one back with a Damon Severson goal, helped along by Bratt. Philadelphia iced it at 5-2 with a Frost empty net goal, his second of the game, going in unassisted. The three stars were Konecny, Frost, and Provorov, while DeAngelo, Hayes, and Bratt get the honorable mentions.

Across Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Penguins bring in the Arizona Coyotes. Karel Vejmelka and Tristan Jarry are the masked men. Pittsburgh led off with a Sidney Crosby goal, coming off of Jake Guentzel and Kris Letang. The Penguins added on with a Jason Zucker goal, via Danton Heinen and Jeff Petry. Pittsburgh extended the lead on a Guentzel power play goal, powered by Bryan Rust and Crosby. Arizona got on the board in the second period with a Nick Ritchie power play goal, with assists provided by Shayne Gostisbehere and J.J. Moser. The Penguins fired back with an Evgeni Malkin power play goal, helped along by Crosby and Letang. The Coyotes pulled one back in the third period with another Ritchie power play goal, with helpers from Gostisbehere and Moser. Pittsburgh answered with a Rust goal, passed from Zucker and Marcus Pettersson. The Penguins padded the lead on a Kasperi Kapanen goal, courtesy of Heinen and Jeff Carter. The final stayed at 6-2, with the three stars handed to Crosby, Guentzel, and Ritchie, while Rust, Zucker, Heinen, Letang, Gostisbehere, and Moser get the honorable mentions.

In Canada, the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Washington Capitals. Charlie Lindgren and Ilya Samsonov are set to start in goal. Toronto started in the first period with a John Tavares power play goal, powered by Morgan Rielly and Mitchell Marner. Washington tied it on a Nic Dowd goal, via Erik Gustafsson and Trevor van Riemsdyk. The Capitals took the lead with a Marcus Johansson goal, courtesy of T.J. Oshie and Lars Eller. The Maple Leafs tied it in the second period with a Calle Jarnkrok goal, assisted by Alexander Kerfoot and Rielly. Toronto pulled ahead in the third period with an Auston Matthews goal, coming off of Mark Giordano and Rasmus Sandin. This held for a 3-2 win, with the three stars handed to Rielly, Matthews, and Giordano.

Back stateside, the New York Islanders welcome the Florida Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky and Ilya Sorokin are the Russian goalies. Florida got going in the second period with an Eetu Luostarinen goal, made possible by Radko Gudas and Colin White. New York tied it in the third period with a Noah Dobson power play goal, powered by Brock Nelson and Mathew Barzal. The Panthers retook the lead with a Patric Hornqvist goal, coming off of Ryan Lomberg. Florida iced it at 3-1 with a Matthew Tkachuk empty net goal, going in unassisted. The three stars were Hornqvist, Bobrovsky (31 for 32 in saves), and Luostarinen.

Over in Minnesota, the Wild bring in the New York Rangers. Igor Shesterkin and Marc-Andre Fleury guard the cages. New York struck first in the first period with a Chris Kreider power play goal, powered by Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin. The Rangers added on with an Adam Fox goal, assisted by Alexis Lafreniere and Panarin. New York extended the lead as Panarin scored, thanks to Lafreniere and Vincent Trocheck. Minnesota got on the board in the second period with a Mats Zuccarello power play goal, with assists provided by Kirill Kaprizov and Marcus Foligno. The Rangers replied with a Filip Chytil goal, via Fox and Barclay Goodrow. New York padded the lead on a Trocheck goal, fueled by Panarin. The Wild got one back with a Matt Boldy goal, guided in by Jacob Middleton. The Rangers replied with a Kaapo Kakko goal, an unassisted goal. The Wild replied with Boldy's second goal of the game, with helpers from Matt Dumba. New York fired back with a Kreider goal, his second of the game, passed from K'Andre Miller and Zibanejad. This made it 7-3, the final, with the three stars given to Kreider, Boldy, and Panarin, while Fox, Trocheck, Zibanejad, and Lafreniere get the honorable mentions.

South to Nashville, as the Predators host the Dallas Stars. Jake Oettinger and Juuse Saros tend the twines. Dallas was first to score in the first period with a Mason Marchment goal, guided in by Tyler Seguin. The Stars added on with a Marchment power play goal, his second of the game, powered by Nils Lundkvist and Seguin. Dallas extended the lead in the second period as Joe Pavelski scored, thanks to Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson. The Stars padded the lead in the third period with a Wyatt Johnston goal, coming off of Seguin and Ryan Suter on the power play. Nashville got on the board with a Ryan Johansen goal, assisted by Eeli Tolvanen. The final held at 4-1, with the three stars belonging to Marchment, Seguin, and Johnston.

Northwest to Calgary, as the Flames welcome the Colorado Avalanche. Pavel Francouz and Jacob Markstrom are in the creases. Colorado kicked off the scoring in the first period with a Bowen Byram goal, assisted by Devon Toews and Nathan MacKinnon. Calgary tied it on a Brett Ritchie goal, via Milan Lucic and MacKenzie Weegar. The Flames took the lead with a Dillon Dube shorthanded goal, set up by Andrew Mangiapane. Calgary added on with a Rasmus Andersson goal, coming off of Weegar. The Flames extended the lead in the third period as Tyler Toffoli scored on the power play, powered by Nazem Kadri and Andersson. Calgary padded the lead on an Elias Lindholm power play goal, with an assist provided by Jonathan Huberdeau. The Avalanche got one back with a MacKinnon goal, fueled by the goalie Francouz. Colorado got closer with a Valeri Nichushkin power play goal, his third of the season, with helpers from Mikko Rantanen and Artturi Lehkonen. This was as close as it got, with the three stars of the 5-3 game being Andersson, MacKinnon, and Weegar.

Back south, the Vegas Golden Knights bring in the Chicago Blackhawks. Alex Stalock is mismatched with Logan Thompson in goal. Vegas dented the scoreboard in the second period with a Paul Cotter goal, via Zach Whitecloud. This held up for a 1-0 win, with the three stars awarded to Thompson (27 save shutout), Cotter, and Stalock (36 for 37 in saves).

Finally, the Los Angeles Kings host the Seattle Kraken. Martin Jones and Jonathan Quick are the veteran goalies. Seattle drew first blood in the first period with a Jaden Schwartz power play goal, powered by Jordan Eberle and Andre Burakovsky. Los Angeles tied it on an Alex Iafallo power play goal, going in unassisted. The Kraken regained the lead in the second period with a Brandon Tanev goal, via Will Borgen. Seattle added on with an Alexander Wennberg goal, helped along by Matty Beniers and Oliver Bjorkstrand. The Kraken finished it at 4-1 with an Adam Larsson shorthanded empty net goal, an unassisted tally. The three stars were Jones (26 for 27 in saves), Tanev, and Wennberg.
