Omsk, as Avangard hosts Vityaz Chekhov. Ivan Kasutin for Vityaz and Eduard Reizvikh for Avangard are set to start. Chekhov started in the first period on a Pavel Chernov power play goal, passed from Brian Fahey and Artemy Panarin. Omsk tied it in the second period on an Anton Kuryanov goal, courtesy of Igor Volkov. Vityaz took the lead with another power play goal, scored by Josh Hennessy, made possible by Andrei Markov and Alexander Korolyuk. Avangard retied it on a Dmitry Syomin goal, assisted by Sergei Kostitsyn and Nikita Pivtsakin. Omsk took the lead in the third period as Nikita Nikitin scored a power play goal, powered by Alexander Frolov and Kostitsyn. Avangard added on when Kostitsyn scored, via Frolov and Syomin. This made it 4-2, a final, with the three stars going to Kostitsyn, Syomin, and Frolov.
Northwest to Ufa, as Salavat Yulaev hosts Metallurg Novokuznetsk. Alexander Lazushin for Metallurg and Iiro Tarkki for Salavat Yulaev have the green light to start. Ufa led off in the first period with an Igor Mirnov goal, set up by Vitaly Atyushov and Alexander Stepanov. Salavat Yulaev extended the lead as Andrei Konev scored, with the help of Nikita Filatov and Vitaly Proshkin. Ufa padded the lead on a Yury Trubachyov goal, passed from Filatov and Alexander Pankov. Novokuznetsk got on the board in the second period as Dmitry Megalinsky scored, thanks to Randy Robitaille and Alexander Bumagin. Metallurg pulled closer in the third period as Bumagin scored, with a lone assist from Dmitry Kagarlitsky. They couldn't tie the game, losing 3-2, with the three stars being Filatov, Bumagin, and Tarkki (27 for 29 in saves).
Backtracking a bit to Chelyabinsk, where Traktor brings in Spartak Moscow. Sergei Borisov of Spartak and Vladislav Fokin of Traktor will be between the pipes. Chelyabinsk got going in the second period as Petri Kontiola scored a power play goal, powered by Evgeny Kuznetsov and Vyacheslav Belov. Traktor added on with an unassisted Kuznetsov goal. Chelyabinsk struck again as Stanislav Chistov scored a power play goal, with a lone helper by Jan Bulis. Traktor iced it at 4-0 in the third period when Kuznetsov scored another unassisted goal, this time on the power play. The three stars went to Kuznetsov, Fokin (31 save shutout), and Kontiola.
A tad west to Magnitogorsk, as Metallurg welcomes Donbass Donetsk. Jan Laco for Donbass and Ari Ahonen for Metallurg protect the nets. The scoring began in the second period when Magnitogorsk's Sergei Bernatsky scored, thanks to Mikhail Yakubov. Donetsk tied it as Tuomas Kiiskinen scored a power play goal, powered by Evgeny Dadonov. Donbass took the lead in the third period as Peter Podhradsky scored a power play goal made possible by Clay Wilson. This stood for a 2-1 win, with the three stars going to Laco (30 for 31 in saves), Podhradsky, and Kiiskinen.
Northeast to Yekaterinburg, with Avtomobilist hosting Dinamo Riga. Mikael Tellqvist for Dinamo and Evgeny Lobanov for Avtomobilist will stand in the blue paint. Riga opened in the first period with a Jamie Johnson goal, helped along by Krisjanis Redlihs and Paul Szczechura. Dinamo padded the lead when Johnson scored a shorthanded goal, passed from Szczechura. Yekaterinburg got on the board in the third period with an Artyom Kryukov goal, coming off of Alexander Sazonov and Sergei Stupin. Dinamo answered with a Martins Karsums goal, courtesy of Aleksandrs Nizivijs and Kaspars Daugavins. This was good for a 3-1 win, with the three stars being Johnson, Tellqvist (21 for 22 in saves), and Szczechura.
South to Astana, where Barys hosts Dinamo Minsk. Pekka Rinne of Dinamo and Vitaly Yeremeyev of Barys are in the creases. Astana was first on the board in the first period with a power play goal scored by Maxim Spiridonov, passed from Brandon Bochenski and Nikolai Antropov. Minsk tied it with a power play goal scored by Janne Niskala, with a lone Joe Pavelski assist. Barys took the lead back when Victor Hedman scored, thanks to Andrei Gavrilin. Astana added on in the second period with a Bochenski goal, made possible by Spiridonov and Antropov. Dinamo pulled back with an unassisted Dmitry Meleshko goal. Barys shot back on a Roman Savchenko power play goal, set up by Konstantin Rudenko. Astana padded the lead as Rudenko scored a goal, and Dmitry Upper provided the assist. Barys kept going with a power play goal recorded by Talgat Zhailauov, powered by Fyodor Polishchuk and Vadim Krasnoslobodtsev. Astana iced the game at 7-2 in the third period as Nigel Dawes scored an unassisted goal to end the scoring. The three stars belonged to Bochenski, Spiridonov, and Rudenko, while Antropov gets an honorable mention.
Back north to Khanty-Mansiysk, as Yugra welcomes Severstal Cherepovets. Vasily Koshechkin for Severstal and Edgars Masalskis for Yugra guard the cages. Khanty-Mansiysk struck first in the first period on an Igor Skorokhodov goal, assisted by Tomas Starosta and Vitaly Sitnikov. Yugra padded the lead on a power play goal by Skorokhodov, powered by Denis Grebeshkov. Cherepovets pulled back as Niclas Bergfors scored a power play goal, with a lone assist from Vadim Shipachyov. Severstal tied the game in the second period on a Petr Caslava goal, made possible by Shipachyov. Khanty-Mansiysk retook the lead on a third Skorokhodov goal, completing his hat trick with help from Alexei Pepeleyev on the power play. This ended the scoring at 3-2, with the three stars being Skorokhodov, Shipachyov, and Masalskis (25 for 27 in saves).
Heading west to Kazan, with Ak Bars hosting Amur Khabarovsk. Alexei Kuznetsov of Amur and Konstantin Barulin of Ak Bars are all padded up. Kazan began with a first period goal by Alexei Morozov, assisted by Ilya Nikulin. Khabarovsk tied it with a power play goal recorded by Anton Poleshchuk, with a lone helper from Alexander Loginov. Amur took the lead in the second period on a Nikita Gusev goal, coming off of Mikhail Fisenko. Ak Bars retied it as Kirill Petrov scored, thanks to Alexei Tereshchenko and Alexei Yemelin. Khabarovsk took the lead back in the third period on a Timofei Shishkanov goal, set up by Evgeny Orlov and Kirill Tulupov. Kazan pulled even again on a Tereshchenko power play goal, courtesy of Lauris Darzins and Evgeny Medvedev. Ak Bars took a lead with another power play goal, this time scored by Denis Kulyash, and powered by Darzins and Medvedev. This stood as a 4-3 win, with the three stars going to Tereshchenko, Darzins, and Medvedev.
Southeast to Nizhnekamsk, as Neftekhimik hosts Sibir Novosibirsk. Jeff Glass of Sibir and Matt Dalton of Neftekhimik are the masked men. Nizhnekamsk got going in the first period on a Tomas Netik goal, assisted by Maxim Berezin and Petr Koukal, Neftekhimik added on in the second period with a power play goal scored by Andrei Subbotin, powered by Igor Polygalov. This was it for the scoring, making the final 2-0, with the three stars being Dalton (26 save shutout), Netik, and Glass (33 for 35 in saves).
Into Moscow, as CSKA hosts their cross-city rivals, Dynamo Moscow. Alexander Sharychenkov for Dynamo and Rastislav Stana for CSKA tend the twines. Dynamo opened with a first period Alexander Ovechkin power play goal, with a lone assist by Filip Novak. Dynamo added on in the second period as Sergei Soin scored, thanks to Ilya Gorokhov, coming shorthanded. Dynamo extended the lead as Marek Kvapil scored, with the help of Dmitry Pestunov. Dynamo padded the lead with an unassisted Richard Gynge goal, prompting Stana to be replaced by Ilya Proskuryakov in goal. Dyanmo kept going as Kvapil scored again, and Gorokhov picked up the assist. CSKA got on the board as Pavel Datsyuk scored an unassisted goal in the third period. CSKA pulled closer with a Mikhail Grabovsky goal, passed from Alexander Radulov and Maxim Kondratyev. CSKA chipped away on a Radulov goal, set up by Andrei Sergeyev and Datsyuk. CSKA inched closer on a Datsyuk goal, courtesy of Grabovsky. Dynamo iced it at 6-4 as Nicklas Backstrom scored an empty net goal, with the only assist provided by Ovechkin. The three stars were Kvapil, Ovechkin, and Gorokhov, while the honorable mentions include Datsyuk, Radulov, and Grabovsky.
Finally, in St. Petersburg, SKA brings in Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. Vitaly Koval of Torpedo and Sergei Bobrovsky of SKA are in goal. St. Petersburg struck first in the first period on a power play goal by Dmitry Kalinin, powered by Patrick Thoresen and Tony Martensson. This was the game's only goal, with SKA winning 1-0. The three stars are awarded to Bobrovsky (25 save shutout), Kalinin, and Koval (20 for 21 in saves).
