The Montreal Impact hosting the Chicago Fire. Jon Busch and Evan Bush are the similarly named goalies. Montreal opened in the thirty-ninth minute on a Didier Drogba goal, made possible by Nigel Reo-Coker. Chicago saw a yellow card for a Razvan Cocis foul in first half stoppage time. The Fire tied it on a fiftieth minute goal by David Accam. Chicago saw a yellow card given to Matt Polster in the fifty-sixth minute for persistent infringement. The Impact received a yellow card for a fifty-eighth minute foul by Laurent Ciman. Montreal retook the lead on an Andres Romero goal in the seventy-sixth minute, assisted by Patrice Bernier, but Romero also got booked on a yellow card for excessive celebration. In the eightieth minute, the Fire had a yellow card given to Patrick Doody for his foul. The Impact's Victor Cabrera took a yellow card for his eighty-sixth minute foul. In the eighty-ninth minute, Chicago's Ty Harden had a yellow card for a foul. Montreal went down to ten men in stoppage time when Ciman received a second yellow card for a foul. The Impact held on to win 2-1, and Romero was the man of the match for his winner.
The other game has the Houston Dynamo hosting Sporting Kansas City. Tim Melia and Tyler Deric man the nets. Kansas City had the first two yellow cards, for fouls by Soni Mustivar in the thirty-third minute and Matt Besler in the forty-first minute. In the forty-fifth minute, Oscar Garcia of Houston took a yellow card for his foul. Sporting saw Seth Sinovic receive a yellow card for his foul in the fifty-sixth minute. The Dynamo started with a sixty-seventh minute goal by Will Bruin, set up by DaMarcus Beasley and Brad Davis. Houston went down to ten men as Garcia had a second yellow card for another foul in the seventieth minute. Kansas City took a yellow card on dissent by Benny Feilhaber in the eighty-eighth minute. The final held at 1-0 for Houston, and Bruin was the man of the match for the decisive goal.
