NWSL 2019 - Week 21

A full weekend ready to go begins on Friday with...

The Houston Dash hosting the Utah Royals FC. Nicole Barnhart and Jane Campbell are the gloved women. Houston led off in the 27th minute with a Sofia Huerta goal, set up by Kristie Mewis. The Dash added on in the 62nd minute with another Huerta goal, via Rachel Daly. Utah got on the board in the 75th minute with a Gunnhildur Jonsdottir goal, coming off of Erika Tymrak. Houston's Christine Nairn received a yellow card for time wasting in the 87th minute. The Dash held on for the 2-1 win, with the woman of the match being Huerta.

On Saturday, the North Carolina Courage welcome the Orlando Pride. Ashlyn Harris and Stephanie Labbe protect the nets. North Carolina began in the 6th minute with a Lynn Williams goal, set up by Kristen Hamilton. In the 11th minute, Erin Greening of Orlando took a yellow card for a foul, as did teammates Alanna Kennedy and Abby Elinsky in the 28th minute. The Courage added on when the Pride's Kristen Edmonds committed an own goal in the 37th minute. North Carolina extended the lead as Jessica McDonald scored in the 41st minute, thanks to Jaelene Hinkle. The Courage padded the lead as McKenzie Meehan scored in the 78th minute, with the help of McDonald. Orlando got on the board in the 82nd minute with a Rachel Hill goal, via Danica Evans. North Carolina shot back with an 85th minute Heather O'Reilly goal, fueled by McCall Zerboni. The Courage capped it at 6-1 in stoppage time with a Debinha goal, coming off of O'Reilly. The woman of the match was O'Reilly.

Also, the Washington Spirit bring in Reign FC at Audi Field. Casey Murphy and Aubrey Bledsoe are the young keepers. Washington opened in the 30th minute with an Ashley Hatch goal, assisted by Mallory Pugh. Reign tied it on a Bethany Balcer goal in the 35th minute. The Spirit retook the lead in the 90th minute on a Chloe Logarzo goal, set up by Hatch. Reign tied it again in stoppage time on an Ifeoma Onumonu goal, passed from Jodie Taylor. Kristen McNabb of Reign picked up a yellow card for a foul late in stoppage time. The final held at 2-2, with Hatch as the woman of the match.

On Sunday, Sky Blue FC hosts the Chicago Red Stars. Alyssa Naeher and Kailen Sheridan draw the starts in goal. Chicago started with a Morgan Brian goal in the 31st minute, set up by Sam Kerr. The Red Stars added on in the 33rd minute with a Kerr goal, coming off of Yuki Nagasato. Sky Blue's Raquel Rodriguez took a yellow card for a 78th minute foul. Chicago extended the lead in the 80th minute as Nagasato scored, thanks to Zoey Goralski. The final was 3-0, with Kerr as the woman of the match.
