The Winnipeg Jets hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tristan Jarry and Laurent Brossoit are the goalies. Winnipeg led off in the first period with a Mathieu Perreault goal, his second of the season, made possible by Jack Roslovic and Dmitry Kulikov. Pittsburgh tied it with a Zach Aston-Reese goal, coming off of Teddy Blueger and Brandon Tanev. The Penguins took the lead in the second period with a Jake Guentzel power play goal, his third of the year, powered by Brian Dumoulin and Marcus Pettersson. Pittsburgh added on with a Sam Lafferty goal, his second of the season, assisted by Joseph Blandisi and Kris Letang. The Jets got one back on a Mark Scheifele power play goal, his third of the year, with assists provided by Patrik Laine and Josh Morrissey. The Penguins replied on a Dominik Simon goal, helped along by Sidney Crosby and Pettersson. Pittsburgh extended the lead in the third period as Laffert scored his second of the game and third of the season, thanks to Aston-Reese and Justin Schultz. The Penguins padded the lead on a Guentzel goal, his second of the game and fourth of the year, with helpers from Letang and Crosby. Pittsburgh iced it at 7-2 with an Aston-Reese shorthanded and unassisted goal, his second of the game. The three stars were Aston-Reese, Lafferty, and Guentzel, while Crosby, Letang, and Pettersson get the honorable mentions.
Out in Los Angeles, the Kings welcome the Vegas Golden Knights. Marc-Andre Fleury and Jonathan Quick man the nets. Vegas began in the first period with a Reilly Smith goal, his fourth of the season, courtesy of William Karlsson. The Golden Knights added on with a Max Pacioretty power play goal, his second of the year, powered by Shea Theodore and Paul Stastny. Los Angeles got on the board with an Austin Wagner goal, via Sean Walker and Adrian Kempe. Vegas replied in the second period with a Stastny power play goal, his second of the season, with assists provided by Pacioretty and Theodore. The Golden Knights extended the lead as Stastny scored another power play goal, his second of the game and third of the year, with the help of Jonathan Marchessault and Nicolas Hague. The Kings got one back in the third period with a Dustin Brown goal, his third of the season, assisted by Anze Kopitar and Alex Iafallo. Vegas replied with a Mark Stone goal, his fourth of the year, helped along by Pacioretty and Stastny. This produced the 5-2 final, with the three stars awarded to Stastny, Pacioretty, and Theodore.
Finally, the San Jose Sharks bring in the Calgary Flames. Cam Talbot and Martin Jones are the veterans in goal. San Jose struck first in the first period with a Timo Meier goal, coming off of Logan Couture and Patrick Marleau. The Sharks added on with a Kevin Labanc goal, his second of the season, courtesy of Tomas Hertl and Erik Karlsson. Calgary got on the board with an Elias Lindholm goal in the second period, his third of the year, via T.J. Brodie. San Jose replied with a shorthanded goal by Hertl, set up by Couture. This stood for a 3-1 win, with the three stars given to Hertl, Couture, and Jones (32 for 33 in saves).
