Chelyabinsk got on the board with a Deron Quint power play goal, powered by Alexander Rybakov and Artyom Borodkin. Moscow replied in the third period on a Denis Kokarev empty net goal, set up by Maxim Solovyov. Two games on in midweek, beginning with...
The Montreal Impact hosting the Chicago Fire. Jon Busch and Evan Bush are the similarly named goalies. Montreal opened in the thirty-ninth minute on a Didier Drogba goal, made possible by Nigel Reo-Coker. Chicago saw a yellow card for a Razvan Cocis foul in first half stoppage time. The Fire tied it on a fiftieth minute goal by David Accam. Chicago saw a yellow card given to Matt Polster in the fifty-sixth minute for persistent infringement. The Impact received a yellow card for a fifty-eighth minute foul by Laurent Ciman. Montreal retook the lead on an Andres Romero goal in the seventy-sixth minute, assisted by Patrice Bernier, but Romero also got booked on a yellow card for excessive celebration. In the eightieth minute, the Fire had a yellow card given to Patrick Doody for his foul. The Impact's Victor Cabrera took a yellow card for his eighty-sixth minute foul. In the eighty-ninth minute, Chicago's Ty Harden had a yellow card for a foul. Montreal went down to ten men in stoppage time when Ciman received a second yellow card for a foul. Novokuznetsk tied it with a second period power play goal by Ryan Stoa, going in unassisted. The Leopards retook the lead on a Nikolai Zherdev power play goal, also unassisted. Sochi added on with a Nikita Shchitov goal, passed from Mikhail Anisin and Renat Mamashev on the power play. Metallurg got one back on another Stoa goal in the third period, with a lone assist by Maxim Kazakov. Novokuznetsk tied it with an unassisted goal by Kirill Kaprizov. The tie lasted to a shootout, where Andre Petersson's goal gave the Leopards a 4-3 win. The three stars went to Stoa, Shchitov, and Petersson.
