The Penguins chipped back on a Patric Hornqvist goal, his fifth of the season, made possible by Guentzel and Sidney Crosby. The Maple Leafs tied it with an Auston Matthews goal, his eighth of the season, guided in by Andreas Johnsson and Muzzin. Toronto took the lead in the second period with a William Nylander goal, his third of the year, via Johnsson and Matthews. Columbus evened it in the third period with an Alexander Wennberg power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Zach Werenski and Seth Jones. The Canucks added on with a Brock Boeser goal, his second of the year, via Pettersson. Vancouver extended the lead with a shorthanded Jay Beagle goal, set up by Christopher Tanev. New York got on the board in the second period with a Jesper Fast goal, his second of the season, passed from Jacob Trouba and Ryan Strome. The Rangers got closer in the third period with an Artemi Panarin goal, his fourth of the year, assisted by Fast and Mika Zibanejad.
