Alexandru Mitrita of New York City saw a yellow card for a 30th minute foul. The Reds got going in the 47th minute with an Alejandro Pozuelo goal. The Pigeons retied it on a 69th minute goal by Ismael Tajouri-Shradi, set up by Maximiliano Moralez. Michael Bradley of Toronto had a yellow card for a foul in the 77th minute. The Reds pulled ahead in the 90th minute with a Pozuelo penalty kick goal. This made it 2-1, the final, with the man of the match being Pozuelo.
Out in Seattle, the Sounders FC welcome Real Salt Lake. Nick Rimando and Stefan Frei tend the twines. Nedum Onuoha of Salt Lake had a yellow card for a 28th minute foul. Seattle dented the scoreboard in the 64th minute with a Gustav Svensson goal, set up by Nicolas Lodeiro.
