In the sixty-second minute, New York City's Thomas McNamara took a yellow card for persistent infringement. New York City iced it at 2-0 with a Villa goal in stoppage time, his second of the game, via Tony Taylor and Federico Bravo. The man of the match was Villa for his brace.
On Saturday, the first game has the New York Red Bulls welcoming the Philadelphia Union. Andre Blake and Luis Robles man the nets. Philadelphia started in the fifteenth minute on a Fabian Herbers goal, assisted by Chris Pontius and Fabinho. New York tied it in the forty-fourth minute with a Sacha Kljestan goal, coming off of Felipe and Dax McCarty. The Red Bulls took the lead in the forty-seventh minute with a Bradley Wright-Phillips goal, via McCarty. The Union tied it again in the fifty-fifth minute on a Pontius goal, courtesy of Fabinho. New York's Damien Perrinelle took a fifty-eighth minute yellow card for a foul. Philadelphia's Herbers had a yellow card in the fifty-ninth minute for entering the field. The Red Bulls took the lead back with a sixty-sixth minute McCarty goal, made possible Kljestan. The Union saw yellow cards for a seventy-second minute foul by Tranquillo Barnetta and time wasting in the eighty-eighth minute by Pontius. The game ended at 3-2, with the man of the match being McCarty for his role in all the Red Bulls goals.
West to Ohio, as the Columbus Crew SC bring in the Chicago Fire. Sean Johnson and Steve Clark are the veteran goalies. Columbus opened in the eighth minute on a Harrison Afful goal, passed from Mohammed Saeid. The Crew added on in the fiftieth minute on a Justin Meram goal, courtesy of Dilly Duka. Columbus extended the lead in the fifty-ninth minute as Duka scored, thanks to Saeid. Chicago had a yellow card for an eighty-eighth minute foul by Rodrigo Ramos. The game ended 3-0, with the man of the match being Duka for his goal and assist.
Back east, the New England Revolution host Sporting Kansas City. Tim Melia and Brad Knighton are set to start in goal. New England led off in the fourth minute with a Kei Kamara goal, via Juan Agudelo and Lee Nguyen. Ike Opara of Kansas City had a yellow card for a seventeenth minute handball. Sporting tied it in the forty-ninth minute on a Dominic Dwyer goal, helped along byKevin Ellis and Benny Feilhaber. The Revolution regained the lead as Kansas City's Ellis committed an own goal in the seventy-fifth minute. New England added on with an eighty-third minute goal from Agudelo, set up by Kamara. The final held at 3-1, with the man of the match being Kamara for his early goal and late assist.
Into Canada, with Toronto FC welcoming DC United. Bill Hamid and Clint Irwin are in the six-yard boxes. DC saw Rob Vincent take a twenty-second minute yellow card for a foul. Toronto began in the thirty-sixth minute on a Jozy Altidore goal, coming off of Armando Cooper. United tied it on a thirty-ninth minute Lamar Neagle goal. DC took the lead with Neagle's second goal of the game in the fifty-eighth minute, set up by Lloyd Sam. United's Luciano Acosta had an eighty-third minute yellow card for his foul. The game closed at 2-1, with Neagle's brace making him the man of the match.
Out west, the Colorado Rapids bring in the Portland Timbers. Jake Gleeson and Tim Howard are the gloved men. Colorado's Dominique Badji had a yellow card for a foul in the eighth minute. Portland's Diego Chara received a yellow card for a thirty-eighth minute foul. The Rapids dented the scoreboard in the sixty-third minute on a Sebastien Le Toux goal, courtesy of Badji and Marlon Hairston. The Timbers saw Fanendo Adi take a yellow card for a seventy-third minute foul. Colorado had yellow cards for Zac MacMath's seventy-seventh minute dissent from the bench, Marc Burch's seventy-eighth minute foul, an eighty-third minute Le Toux foul, and Sam Cronin's foul and Mekeil Williams' time wasting in stoppage time. The Rapids held on for a 1-0 win, with Le Toux the man of the match for his winner.
Southeast to Texas, with FC Dallas hosting the Los Angeles Galaxy. Brian Rowe and Chris Seitz are between the posts. Los Angeles had a twelfth minute A.J. DeLaGarza yellow card for a foul. Dallas struck first in the thirty-ninth minute with a Walker Zimmerman goal, assisted by Mauro Diaz. Dallas saw a seventy-first minute yellow card for a Kellyn Acosta foul. The Galaxy's Jelle Van Damme took a yellow card for his eighty-seventh minute foul. In the ninetieth minute, Maynor Figueroa took a yellow card for time wasting. Dallas won 1-0, with Zimmerman the man of the match for his winner.
Saturday ends with the San Jose Earthquakes welcoming Real Salt Lake. Nick Rimando and David Bingham are the solid goalies. San Jose was the first to score on a Simon Dawkins goal in the thirty-fourth minute, via Chris Wondolowski. Salt Lake tied it with a fortieth minute goal by Justen Glad. Real's Javier Morales took a seventy-second minute yellow card for not retreating, and the Earthquakes took the lead on a Fatai Alashe goal set up by Shea Salinas in the same minute. The game ended at 2-1, with Alashe the man of the match for his winner.
On Sunday, the first of two games has Orlando City SC bringing in the Montreal Impact. Evan Bush and Joe Bendik are the keepers. Montreal drew first blood in the fifty-sixth minute on a Dominic Oduro goal. In the sixty-fifth minute, the Impact's Kyle Fisher took a yellow card for time wasting. Luke Boden of Orlando City had a yellow card in the seventy-seventh minute for a foul. The game ended at 1-0, with Oduro the man of the match for his winner.
Finally, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC host the Seattle Sounders FC. Stefan Frei and David Ousted tend the nets. Vancouver cracked the scoresheet in the twenty-fifth minute with a Pedro Morales penalty kick goal. The Whitecaps' Giles Barnes took a yellow card for his foul in the thirty-second minute. In the fifty-third minute, Morales received a straight red card for violent conduct, putting Vancouver at ten men. In the eightieth minute, Blas Perez of the Whitecaps took a yellow card for dissent. Seattle took the lead in the eighty-first minute on a Brad Evans penalty kick goal. In the eighty-fourth minute, Evans took a red card for violent conduct, leaving the Sounders at ten men as well, putting the game at even strength again. The game ended 2-1, with the man of the match being Alonso.
