KHL 2016/17 - Day 46

Once again, it's a day with three games, beginning in...

Yekaterinburg, with Avtomobilist hosting Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. Ville Kolppanen and Vladimir Sokhatsky are in the creases. Yekaterinburg led off in the first period with an Artyom Gareyev goal, via Alexander Torchenyuk and Dmitry Monya. Nizhnekamsk tied it on a Geoffrey Kinrade goal, guided in by Andrei Stas and Andrei Sergeyev. Avtomobilist took the lead back with a Niclas Andersen goal, fueled by Jan Buchtele. Yekaterinburg added on with an Alexander Shchemerov goal, with a lone assist by Anatoly Golyshev. Neftekhimik got one back in the third period on a Stas goal, made possible by Alexander Bryntsev. The game ended 3-2, with the three stars being Shchemerov, Stas, and Andersen.

Next up, Barys Astana welcomes Lada Togliatti. Ilya Ezhov and Henrik Karlsson are the goalies. Togliatti began in the first period with a Nikita Filatov goal, assisted by Alexander Bumagin. Lada added on in the second period with a Yefim Gurkin goal, passed from Anton Shenfeld. Astana got on the board with an Evgeny Rymarev goal, coming off of Roman Starchenko and Dmitry Grents. Togliatti answered with a Stanislav Bocharov goal, courtesy of Andrei Ivanov and Alexander Streltsov. Lada extended the lead as Shenfeld scored, thanks to Taylor Aronson. Barys got one back with a third period Corey Trivino goal, going in unassisted. The game ended 3-2, with the three stars given to Shenfeld, Bocharov, and Ezhov (29 for 31 in saves).

Finally, Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk brings in Ak Bars Kazan. Emil Garipov and Vladislav Fokin are the masked men. Khanty-Mansiysk struck first in the first period on an Oleg Pogorishny goal, fueled by Pavel Medvedev. Ugra added on with a Pavel Varfolomeyev goal, assisted by Evgeny Lapenkov. Kazan got on the board with a Fyodor Malykhin goal, passed from Mikhail Zhukov and Anton Glinkin. Ak Bars tied it on a Stefan Elliott power play goal in the second period, powered by Jiri Sekac and Stepan Zakharchuk. Kazan took the lead on a Glinkin power play goal, with a lone assist by Malykhin. Ak Bars extended the lead in the third period with an unassisted goal by Andrei Popov on the power play. Kazan padded the lead as Alexander Svitov scored a power play goal, with the help of Justin Azevedo and Vladimir Tkachyov. Khanty-Mansiysk pulled back with an Andrei Ankudinov goal, with helpers from Roman Lyuduchin and Igor Radulov. Ak Bars iced it at 6-3 with a Popov power play goal, his second of the game, helped along by Malykhin and Glinkin. The three stars were Glinkin, Popov, and Malykhin.
