Amur Khabarovsk hosting Spartak Moscow. Markus Svensson and Juha Metsola are in goal. Moscow got going in the second period with a Vyacheslav Leshchenko goal, assisted by Marcus Hogstrom and Matthew Gilroy. Khabarovsk tied it on a Maxim Kondratyev power play goal, powered by Kristian Kuusela and Teemu Ramstedt. Amur took the lead on a power play goal from Jan Kolar, via Ramstedt and Tomas Zohorna. Khabarovsk added on in the third period with a Ramstedt goal, passed from Kuusela and Zohorna. The game ended 3-1, with the three stars being Ramstedt, Kuusela, and Zohorna.
Down in Vladivostok, Admiral welcomes Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. Ilya Proskuryakov and Igor Bobkov are set to start in goal. Vladivostok opened in the first period with a Viktor Alexandrov goal, guided in by James Wright. Admiral added on with a Vadim Krasnoslobodtsev goal in the second period, helped along by Jason Akeson and Artyom Zemchyonok. Vladivostok extended the lead as Samvel Mnatsyan scored, thanks to Akeson and Wright. Admiral padded the lead with a power play goal by Mikhail Fisenko, powered by Vladimir Tkachyov and Dmitry Lugin. Nizhny Novgorod got on the board with a Carter Ashton goal, courtesy of Kirill Vorobyov. Torpedo pulled closer on a shorthanded goal by Dmitry Semin, set up by Kaspars Daugavins. Vladivostok iced it at 5-2 with an empty net power play goal in the third period from Alexander Gorshkov, with a lone assist by Akeson. The three stars went to Akeson, Wright, and Mnatsyan.
South again to China, where Kunlun Red Star Beijing brings in the Sochi Leopards to Shanghai. Konstantin Barulin and Andrei Makarov are the masked men. Sochi led off in the first period with a power play goal by Andrei Kostitsyn, powered by Andre Petersson and Oscar Fantenberg. Beijing tied it in the third period on a Max Warn goal, via Miika Lahti. Kunlun Red Star took the lead with an Oleg Yashin goal, made possible by Vadim Pereskokov and Tomas Marcinko. This stood for a 2-1 win, with the three stars handed to Makarov (19 for 20 in saves), Yashin, and Warn.
Back in Russia, Metallurg Novokuznetsk hosts Sibir Novosibirsk. Alexei Krasikov and Andrei Kareyev are in the blue paint. Novokuznetsk dented the scoreboard in the second period with an Ignat Zemchenko goal, coming off of Stanislav Butuzov. Novosibirsk tied it in the third period with an unassisted power play goal from Sergei Shumakov. Metallurg retook the lead with a power play goal by Nikita Lyamkin, powered by Zemchenko. Novokuznetsk added on with a power play goal by Alexei Vasilchenko, assisted by Lyamkin. Sibir got one back with a Maxim Shalunov goal, via Adam Polasek and Stepan Sannikov. The game ended 3-2, with the three stars awarded to Lyamkin, Zemchenko, and Vasilchenko.
Westward to Magnitogorsk, where Metallurg welcomes Salavat Yulaev Ufa. Andrei Gavrilov and Vasily Koshechkin are the goalies. Magnitogorsk started in the first period with a Danis Zaripov goal, passed from Sergei Tereshchenko and Tomas Filippi. Metallurg added on in the second period with a Jan Kovar power play goal, powered by Wojtek Wolski and Zaripov. Ufa got on the board with a Mikhail Vorobyov goal, guided in by Sami Lepisto and Linus Omark. Salavat Yulaev tied it on an Igor Makarov goal, made possible by Evgeny Bodrov and Zakhar Arzamastsev. In the shootout, Wolski and Chris Lee scored for Metallurg, lifting them to a 3-2 win over Makarov's lone tally for Salavat Yulaev. The three stars were Zaripov, Wolski, and Makarov.
Out in Minsk, Dinamo brings in Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Alexei Murygin and Ben Scrivens are the masked men. Minsk began in the first period with an unassisted Nick Bailen goal. Dinamo iced it at 2-0 with a Rob Klinkhammer empty net goal, set up by Marc-Andre Gragnani in the third period. The three stars were Scrivens (24 save shutout), Bailen, and Klinkhammer.
Into Slovakia, where Slovan hosts SKA St. Petersburg. Igor Shestyorkin and Barry Brust man the nets. St. Petersburg struck first in the first period with an Ilya Kovalchuk goal, going in unassisted. SKA added on with another unassisted Kovalchuk goal in the second period. St. Petersburg extended the lead as Jarno Koskiranta scored, thanks to Steve Moses and Alexander Khokhlachyov. SKA padded the lead with Kovalchuk finishing his hat trick in the third period, coming off of Viktor Tikhonov and Sergei Plotnikov. St. Petersburg continued with a Nikolai Prokhorkin goal, made possible by Alexander Barabanov and Roman Rukavishnikov. SKA iced it at 6-0 with a Moses goal, with a lone assist by Evgeny Dadonov. The three stars were Kovalchuk, Moses, and Shestyorkin (36 save shutout).
In Finland, Jokerit Helsinki welcomes Vityaz Podolsk. Harri Sateri and Riku Helenius guard the cages. Helsinki was first to score in the first period with a Jesse Joensuu goal, fueled by Peter Regin and Sakari Salminen. Podolsk tied it on a Yury Koksharov goal, via Alexander Stepanov and Sergei Gimayev. Vityaz took the lead in the second period with a Roman Horak goal, made possible by Dmitry Shitikov. Podolsk added on with a Mario Kempe goal, guided in by Alexei Kopeikin and Evgeny Katichev. Jokerit got one back with a Brian O'Neill goal, courtesy of Arturs Kulda and Charles Genoway. Helsinki tied it with another O'Neill goal, with helpers from Kulda and Salminen. Vityaz took the game in the shootout with goals by Miro Aaltonen and Nikita Vyglazov for a 4-3 win. The three stars went to O'Neill, Salminen, and Kulda.
Finally, Medvescak Zagreb brings in CSKA Moscow. Viktor Fasth and Danny Taylor are between the pipes. Moscow drew first blood in the second period with a Stephane Da Costa goal, assisted by Konstantin Alexeyev. Taylor soon received an ejection, and Niko Hovinen came on in relief. CSKA added on with a shorthanded goal by Jan Mursak, set up by Kirill Petrov. Zagreb got on the board with an Alexandre Giroux goal, via Alexandre Bolduc and Colby Genoway. Moscow shot back with a Petrov goal, with a lone helper by Valery Nichushkin. CSKA extended the lead as Petrov scored again, a power play goal powered by Da Costa. Moscow padded the lead as Nichushkin scored a power play goal with the help of Petrov and Bogdan Kiselevich. Medvescak got one back with a Giroux goal, his second of the game, coming off of Tomas Mertl and Jakub Krejcik. This only made it 5-2, the final, with the three stars being Petrov, Da Costa, and Giroux, while Nichushkin gets an honorable mention.
