The midweek game early in the season sees the North Carolina Courage hosting the Orlando Pride. Ashlyn Harris and Stephanie Labbe are the veteran keepers. North Carolina opened the scoring in the 45th minute on a Lynn Williams goal, set up by Crystal Dunn. In first half stoppage time, the Courage's Denise O'Sullivan took a yellow card for a foul. North Carolina added on with a Jessica McDonald goal in the 55th minute, coming off of Williams. In the 64th minute, McCall Zerboni of the Courage received a yellow card for a foul. North Carolina extended the lead as Dunn scored in the 70th minute. The Courage padded the lead as Dunn scored again in the 77th minute. Orlando's Marta received a yellow card for dissent in the 85th minute. North Carolina continued with a Julia Spetsmark goal in the 88th minute. The game ended 5-0, with the woman of the match being Dunn.
