We've got just two games today, beginning with...

The Washington Capitals welcoming the Anaheim Ducks. John Gibson and Braden Holtby man the nets. Washington led off in the first period with a Richard Panik goal, fueled by Travis Boyd and Lars Eller. The Capitals added on in the second period with an Alex Ovechkin power play goal, his fifteenth of the season, powered by Evgeny Kuznetsov and John Carlson. Washington extended the lead as Chandler Stephenson scored his third of the year, thanks to Garnet Hathaway. The Capitals padded the lead in the third period on a Jakub Vrana goal, his tenth of the season, going in unassisted. The Ducks got on the board with a Sam Steel power play goal, with assists provided by Devin Shore and Michael Del Zotto. Anaheim got closer with a Nicolas Deslauriers goal, made possible by Rickard Rakell and Ryan Getzlaf. Washington iced it at 5-2 with a Tom Wilson empty net goal, his ninth of the year, set up by Carlson and Nicklas Backstrom. The three stars were Stephenson, Carlson, and Vrana.

Over in Arizona, the Coyotes bring in the Los Angeles Kings. Jack Campbell and Antti Raanta are between the pipes. Arizona began in the first period with a Conor Garland goal, his tenth of the season, passed from Christian Dvorak and Nick Schmaltz. The Coyotes added on with a Derek Stepan power play goal, his fourth of the year, powered by Dvorak and Phil Kessel. Arizona extended the lead in the second period as Jakob Chychrun scored his fifth of the season on the power play, with the help of Garland and Schmaltz. This stood for a 3-0 win, with the three stars given to Raanta (30 save shutout), Garland, and Dvorak, while Schmaltz gets an honorable mention.
