Finally, Medvescak Zagreb brings in CSKA Moscow. Viktor Fasth and Danny Taylor are between the pipes. Moscow drew first blood in the second period with a Stephane Da Costa goal, assisted by Konstantin Alexeyev. Taylor soon received an ejection, and Niko Hovinen came on in relief. CSKA added on with a shorthanded goal by Jan Mursak, set up by Kirill Petrov. Zagreb got on the board with an Alexandre Giroux goal, via Alexandre Bolduc and Colby Genoway. Moscow shot back with a Petrov goal, with a lone helper by Valery Nichushkin. CSKA extended the lead as Petrov scored again, a power play goal powered by Da Costa. Moscow padded the lead as Nichushkin scored a power play goal with the help of Petrov and Bogdan Kiselevich. Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg hosting Ak Bars Kazan. Emil Garipov and Vladimir Sokhatsky are set to start in goal. Kazan led off in the first period with a Nikita Cherepanov goal, with a lone assist by Damir Musin. Ak Bars added on in the second period with a Mikhail Varnakov goal, passed from Atte Ohtamaa and Fyodor Malykhin. Yekaterinburg got on the board on an Andrei Alexeyev goal, guided in by Niclas Andersen and Alexei Simakov. Kazan shot back in the third period with a Vladimir Tkachyov power play goal, powered by Vasily Tokranov and Justin Azevedo. Ak Bars extended the lead as Malykhin scored, thanks to Dmitry Obukhov.
