Pittsburgh tied it in the third period with a Bryan Rust power play goal, his twentieth of the year, with assists provided by Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang. The Penguins won 2-1 in overtime with a Sidney Crosby power play goal, his eighth of the campaign, helped along by Malkin and Rust. the three stars were Rust, Murray (28 for 29 in saves), and Malkin.
Southeast to Raleigh, as the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Anaheim Ducks. Ryan Miller and James Reimer are the backups in goal. Carolina began in the first period with a Sebastian Aho goal, his twenty-fourth of the season, made possible by Joel Edmundson and Teuvo Teravainen. Anaheim tied it on an Erik Gudbranson goal, his fourth of the year, via Ryan Getzlaf and Korbinian Holzer. The Ducks won 2-1 in overtime with a Sam Steel goal, his fourth of the campaign, coming off of Jakob Silfverberg and Hampus Lindholm.
Finally, the Winnipeg Jets bring in the Tampa Bay Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy and Connor Hellebuyck tend the twines. Tampa Bay led off in the first period with an Anthony Cirelli goal, his tenth of the season, assisted by Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson. The Lightning added on with a Nikita Kucherov goal, his twenty-first of the year, courtesy of Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point. Tampa Bay extended the lead as Cirelli scored his second of the game and eleventh of the season, thanks to Palat. The Lightning padded the lead in the second period with another Kucherov goal, his second of the game and twenty-second of the year, helped along by Point and Stamkos. Tampa Bay struck again with a Carter Verhaeghe goal, his sixth of the season, via Ryan McDonagh. Winnipeg got on the board with a Jack Roslovic goal, his ninth of the year, with a lone assist by Mathieu Perreault. The Lightning shot back in the third period with a Cirelli goal to complete his hat trick with his twelfth of the season, guided in by Palat. Tampa Bay kept going with an Alex Killorn goal, his twentieth of the year, with helpers from Mitchell Stephens and Mikhail Sergachev. This made it 7-1, the final, with the three stars awarded to Cirelli, Kucherov, and Palat, while Stamkos, Point, and Vasilevskiy (30 for 31 in saves) get the honorable mentions.
