The Pigeons led off in the 9th minute with a Valentin Castellanos goal, assisted by Heber and Maximiliano Moralez. In the 16th minute, Alexander Ring of New York City had a yellow card for persistent infringement and Chicago's Mohammed Adams received a yellow card for a foul. Anton Tinnerholm of the Pigeons took a yellow card for a 37th minute foul. In the 67th minute, Castellanos of New York City was booked for persistent infringement. The Fire saw yellow cards for Djordje Mihailovic in the 75th minute and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the 90th minute. The game ended 1-0, with the man of the match being Castellanos.
Westward to Columbus, as the Crew SC welcomes DC United. Bill Hamid and Zack Steffen protect the nets. Steven Birnbaum of DC had a yellow card for a 4th minute foul. Josh Williams of Columbus received a yellow card for his 25th minute foul. The Black and Red began in the 27th minute on a Wayne Rooney goal. Hector Jimenez of the Crew received a yellow card for a dive in the 69th minute. Lucas Rodriguez of DC picked up a yellow card for an 80th minute foul. The final remained at 1-0, with Rooney picked as man of the match.
Back east, the New England Revolution host the Montreal Impact. Evan Bush and Cody Cropper are the goalies. Scott Caldwell of New England took a yellow card for a 58th minute foul. Samuel Piette of Montreal had a yellow card for persistent infringement in the 72nd minute. The Impact got going in the 79th minute on a Shamit Shome goal. Montreal added on with an 85th minute goal by Anthony Jackson-Hamel, coming off of Daniel Lovitz. The Impact extended the lead in stoppage time as Jackson-Hamel scored again, thanks to Clement Bayiha.
Over to Minnesota United FC bringing in the Los Angeles Galaxy. David Bingham and Vito Mannone are in the six-yard boxes. Romain Metanire of Minnesota had a yellow card for a foul in the 40th minute. Los Angeles saw yellow cards for time wasting by Bingham in the 84th minute and Jorgen Skjelvik in stoppage time. The final remained at 0-0, with Mannone's four-save clean sheet making him the man of the match.
Finally, the Seattle Sounders FC host the San Jose Earthquakes. Daniel Vega and Stefan Frei are the keepers. San Jose struck first in the 34th minute with a Shea Salinas goal, via Magnus Eriksson. Seattle's Handwalla Bwana took a yellow card for a foul in the 37th minute. The Earthquakes added on in the 53rd minute with a Salinas goal, set up by Cristian Espinoza. The Sounders got on the board in the 65th minute with a Kelvin Leerdam goal, helped along by Kim Kee-hee and Nicolas Lodeiro. Seattle tied it as Harry Shipp scored in the 67th minute, thanks to Lodeiro and Brad Smith. In the 70th minute, San Jose's Danny Hoesen took a yellow card for not retreating. In the 77th minute, the Sounders' Lodeiro took a yellow card for dissent. The Earthquakes saw yellow cards for fouls by Luis Felipe Fernandes in the 87th minute and Chris Wondolowski in stoppage time. The game ended 2-2, with Salinas as the man of the match.
