NWSL 2019 - Week 2

There's four more games this weekend, beginning with...

The Chicago Red Stars hosting the Portland Thorns FC on Saturday. Adrianna Franch and Alyssa Naeher are the American keepers. Portland began in the 16th minute with a Christine Sinclair goal, set up by Lindsey Horan. Chicago tied it on a Yuki Nagasato penalty kick goal in the 18th minute. The Red Stars took the lead with a 20th minute Sam Kerr goal. The Thorns retied it with an Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic goal, coming off of Meghan Klingberg. Portland took the lead with a Sinclair goal, made possible by Klingenberg. Chicago retied it on a 77th minute Michele Vasconcelos goal, via Julie Ertz. The Thorns reclaimed the lead on a Sinclair penalty kick goal in the 87th minute to secure her hat trick. The Red Stars evened it on Nagasato's second goal of the game in the 90th minute. The final was 4-4, with Sinclair named woman of the match.

East to New Jersey, as Sky Blue FC welcomes the Houston Dash. Jane Campbell and Kailen Sheridan draw the starts in goal. Lindsay Agnew of Houston received a yellow card for a 49th minute foul. In the 80th minute, Sky Blue's Carli Lloyd took a yellow card for a foul. The Dash got going in the 83rd minute with a Sofia Huerta goal. The final stood at 1-0, with the woman of the match being Sheridan, who went 10 for 11 in saves despite the loss.

Out west, the Utah Royals FC brings in the Washington Spirit. Aubrey Bledsoe and Nicole Barnhart are the gloved women. Utah led off in the 10th minute with a Lo'eau Labonta goal, assisted by Christen Press. Washington's Cheyna Matthews had a yellow card for a 26th minute foul. This score held at 1-0 with Press named woman of the match.

Finally, on Sunday, Reign FC hosts the Orlando Pride. Ashlyn Harris and Michelle Betos are in the six-yard boxes. Orlando struck first in the 6th minute with an Alanna Kennedy goal. Seattle tied it with a Bethany Balcer goal, set up by Allie Long. In the 57th minute, the Pride's Emily van Egmond received a yellow card for a foul. Reign's Jodie Taylor received a yellow card for her foul in the 73rd minute. In stoppage time, Orlando's Alex Morgan took a yellow card for a foul. The final held at 1-1, with the woman of the match being Kennedy.
